In January 2022, I was driving home and chatting with my daughter, Imogen, about the Wordle craze and agreed there must be an equivalent for us math fans. A few minutes later, we’d decided on the rules of the game and the name “nerdle”. As far as we can work out, there are over 100,000 valid words but my son, Alex, and I chose 17,723 of the best "words" - that's enough until 30 July 2070!

Since the first 8-digit nerdles, we've created a whole load of nerdle variants as well as some new number-based games that are just as fun.

We think it’s just as fun playing with numbers as playing with letters. See if you agree!
