Maffdoku is a daily math puzzle similar to Sudoku but with extra arithmetic. You have a 3×3 grid and need to place the numbers 1–9 so that each number appears exactly once. The clues are around the outside of the grid:
Using these clues and a process of elimination, you work out where each number goes. There’s only one valid solution.
Tap a square, then enter a number. You can switch between pen mode (🖊️ for final answers) and pencil mode (✏️ for noting possibilities) – just like solving a sudoku on paper. Use the undo button (🔄) to correct mistakes.
If you get stuck, the hint button (👀) first highlights any incorrect entries, then reveals new squares on subsequent uses.
Maffdoku is also available as a book if you want to solve puzzles on paper.
If you enjoy maffdoku, try cross nerdle (a math crossword) or 2d nerdle (swap tiles to build a magic square of equations). For a different kind of number challenge, Targets has you building calculations to hit target numbers.
