Nanagrams is a number puzzle where you’re given a set of tiles – digits, operators and an equals sign – and you need to find every valid calculation hidden within them. A calculation is always numbers and symbols before the equals sign, finishing with a number after it (e.g. 1+9=10).
Each tile can only be used once per calculation, and tiles shown in dark pink are mandatory – they must appear in every answer. The game tells you how many solutions exist and their lengths, so you know what you’re looking for.
Nanagrams tracks mathematically equivalent solutions. If you find 1+2=3, the game recognises that 2+1=3 is the same calculation (a commutative, marked C). Some solutions can also be rearranged into different valid calculations (marked R) – tap a completed answer to see its variations.
There are four daily nanagram puzzles, each allowing calculations of a different maximum length:
Even on the gentler levels you need to find all valid solutions – including shorter ones – to complete the puzzle. You start with 6 points and can use the hint button (👀) if stuck, but each hint costs a point.
If you enjoy word anagrams, nanagrams is the number equivalent – rearranging symbols into valid equations rather than letters into words. For other number puzzles in the nerdleverse, try cross nerdle, maffdoku or Targets.
