Speed nerdle is the timed version of classic nerdle. The puzzle is the same – guess a hidden 8-character equation in six tries – but with a countdown timer running from the moment you start. Your first guess is pre-filled for you so the clock begins immediately.
After each guess you get the same colour-coded feedback:
Wrong guesses add time penalties, so accuracy matters as much as speed. A new puzzle every day at midnight GMT.
In classic nerdle you can take as long as you like. In speed nerdle, the timer creates real pressure – you need to think fast and type quickly. The pre-filled first guess means everyone starts from the same position, making it a fair test of solving speed. Time penalties for wrong guesses discourage random stabs, so you still need to think logically.
If you enjoy the pressure of speed nerdle, try instant nerdle – where you only get one guess. For a more relaxed experience, head back to classic nerdle or try a different length like mini nerdle (6 characters) or maxi nerdle (10 characters).
