What is Decoy?
Decoy is a daily puzzle with a twist. You’re given a set of tiles and need to rearrange them into a valid answer – but one of the tiles is a decoy that doesn’t belong. Your job is to figure out which tile is the fake, discard it, and arrange the remaining tiles correctly.
Two variants
- Decoy numbers – rearrange digits and operators into a valid calculation. Find the decoy and solve the equation.
- Decoy words – rearrange letters into a word. Find the decoy letter and solve the anagram.
Both variants are available daily from the same page – just choose numbers or words when you start.
The extra challenge
The decoy tile is what makes this puzzle different from a straightforward anagram or calculation. You can’t just rearrange everything – you first need to identify which tile doesn’t fit, which requires reasoning about what’s possible before you commit to an arrangement.
